Dean Shrock

Dean Shrock is a psychologist and author of the bestsellers Doctor’s Orders: Go Fishing and Why Love Heals. Having carried out several scientific studies of the positive impact of joy on the life quality and life span of cancer patients, he reached the startling conclusion that the feeling of being loved and cared for has a positive influence on the life expectancy of cancer patients and that love can even have a healing effect. Dean Shrock studied at Cleveland State University in Cleveland, Ohio, and obtained his doctorate in applied psychology from the University of Akron in Ohio. He developed a research proposal for the Cleveland Clinic to investigate the effectiveness of guided imagery on cancer patients and shortly afterward began his psychological research into cancer care at the Simonton Cancer Center in Malibu, California."
